We want to show our support for police in the Chicagoland area by offering them a free drink at the Sundance Saloon. Click for more details about this offer.
As President Barack Obama sits down with Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates and Cambridge police officer Sgt. James Crowley to share a cold beer and talk about race relations in America this afternoon at the White House, AM 560 WIND and the Sundance Saloon in Waukegan want to show their appreciation for police officers around Chicagoland. On Friday, July 31, any sworn police officer on or off-duty who presents their badge at the Sundance Saloon at 300 Lakehurst Road in Waukegan will receive a free beer courtesy of AM 560 WIND and the Sundance Saloon. On-duty officers will have the option of enjoying a root beer.
“This whole incident with Sgt. Crowley and Prof. Gates shows how important police officers are to our communities and why they deserve our support and respect,” said Big John Howell, co-host of the morning show on WIND.
“We wanted to do so something to show cops in Chicago that we appreciate their service and respect the hard work that they do each and every day,” said Cisco Cotto, co-host of the morning show on WIND.
Howell and Cotto are heard weekday mornings from 5 to 9am on AM 560 WIND. They decided to reach out to the local watering hole after hearing the overwhelming response of their listeners in support of Sgt. Crowley in the wake of his arrest of Prof. Gates two weeks ago.
