barack obama's brother

By Cisco Cotto

Barack Obama’s brother George lives on less than a dollar a month? I realize the price of arugula is going up, but couldn’t our prospective “wealth re-distributor in-chief” throw his baby brother a couple of bucks? For the price of one of his Hyde Park lattes Obama could quadruple what his brother scrapes by on now.

Think of the contrast in lifestyle. Obama shops at Whole Foods. George burrows for food in alleys. Obama lives in a million dollar mansion. George lives in a 3x3 shanty made of wood scraps and corrugated metal. Obama has a gate to protect his family. George has scars from fights in his Kenyan neighborhood where people are routinely hacked to death with machetes.

But enough about disparity, the real story here is the hypocrisy. Obama’s insistence on the campaign trail that wealthy Americans have to do more to support the poor rings a little hollow now, doesn’t it?

During a campaign stop in Pittsburgh back in March, Obama plainly said he didn’t mind paying more to support the poor. He has said the same thing several times and at Rick Warren’s Saddleback forum he said any family making more than $250,000 is rich and the rich are going to pay more in an Obama administration. But if he feels so strongly that the “rich” (whatever your definition of that is) should offer aid to the poor why isn’t he supporting George?

This sheds light on Obama’s view that the government forcibly taking your money to give it to someone else is virtuous. But isn’t true virtue deciding on your own to give your money to someone else? Obama apparently doesn’t see things that way. Just look at his tax returns. At least he’s consistent.

I am not rich according to Obama's standards but boy do I give a lot more to charity than he does. Looks like he decided to shell out more about the time he decided to run for president - perception after all is most important.

This needs to get out!
This is huge!!

What rank hypocrisy and miserly stinginess.

Every talk outlet radio ought to be talking about this story.

NOW.

Hyp Hyp Hypocrisy !!!
Thanks goodness someone is pointing this out.

Obama wants to take everyone elses money and send it to Africa, while his own brother lives in a shack.

The McCains actually adopted a child from India.

It would not have been expensive or difficult for Obama to pay for his brother's education, or do SOMETHING. But then, if you are Obama, family is not important because we have big mama government's teat to suckle from.

Guys, guys,
you're over reacting. oblama will take care of George as soon as he's elected. He would just rather not do it with his own money, since it is invested in tax free bonds and all!

Besides, he is hopeful that he can help George and the rest of the world with your money, like the good little liberal he is! I mean you can go get a second job, give up that vacation, or postpone your retirement to help George!

Yes sir, oblama's gonna reach right across that isle and take your change and send it to George. Now that's the change he's talkin' bout!

is out for Barry. He'll say anything to get what he wants. If he will step all over America why are any of us surprised he'd cast his brother aside. And don't believe for one minute he didn't know about his brother,he's been there. Plus his other umpteen 1/2 brothers and sisters have been quoted all over the place. How did he hide George from us for so long?

to keep himself honest.

Shoot...
I make one-thirtieth of Oblama, and yet my charitable contributions are a little over 20 percent. To say nothing about non-tax deductions for other organizations and political entities.

Last Ray of hope...

BO was running for President in '06

Of course Obama knowing that he had to release his tax returns, increased his charitable donations ALMOST all of it to his CHURCH:

After all he was going to be POTUS NOV 2008

1/2 BILLION to get into the White House

Obama, is and has spent 1/2 billion to get into the white house so that he could have

BRO-Obama sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom:

Obama calls it ::: equal sharing with everyone in the world:

Obama who lives in the FAst lane with the Rich and Famous: flushes his toilet with pristine water

Brother Obama does not even have clean water to drink:

OUR NEWLY SELF crowned POTUS OBAMA for a 10 year term, traveling in his force one Presidential plane to his 57 states really does care about the POOR::::and the desperate::

SEND MORE MONEY to Obama: 1/2 billion probably is not enough to send a few bucks to the brother

charity
I am not a fan of Obama, but I give him a pass on this.

First, his brother's condition is no consequence of Obama. He could send his brother a check, but what if he is a drug addict? He would blow the money. There is more to the story than the headline.

As far as charity, Obama did step it up when he made more. However, his philosophy is to let government take care of these sorts of things. Liberals view their taxes as charitable contributions, since they believe in big government.

It's not that he is not charitable, it's his philosophy on how charity is doled out.

Obamas brother lives in a shack, wow.
Obama should be ashamed of himself, he is running for President, and his brother lives like that, why dont he help him, if Obama cant help his brother, what kind of shot is there that he would help any of the American people,
Obama lives in a 1.6 million dollar mansion, while his brother lives in a shack,
wow.

Obama's brother said he had only seen Barack TWICE IN HIS LIFE. He said he was HIDING. How would Barack know that his brother is in dyer straights if the brother doesn't contact him?

The Messiah heartily supports this U.N. Global Poverty initiative that essentially forces U.S. taxpayers (and citizens of other wealthy nations) to send money to the poor citizenry of the world after it has first gone through the meat grinder of bureacracy at the U.N. So in essence the Messiah, like all other libs, defines compassion as giving other people's money to the causes they supposedly support but they don't define compassion as giving their own money to these same causes -- even when it is to their own flesh and blood!

The Messiah would rather that government and taxes take care of the "unfortunate" of the world rather than the individual and their families/friends taking care of their own house. That's liberalism in a nutshell.

If the Messiah's brother is of no consequence to the Messiah himself (as you state) then the Messiah should also not support forcibly sending taxpayer money to poor citizens of the world that are of no real consequence (or responsbility) to the citizens of the U.S.

Nuance vs. charity
Notice years 2001 and 2002, I take it Obama was not too charity-minded after the terrorist's attack on WTC. A 1,000$ when your income is over 225 K?

I bet he has a good "nuanced" way to explain it. Think about it, 1,050(in 02) would be about 87.50 permonth. I wonder how many more starving children he could have fed? Instead he gave about 87.50/month -- or 21.87/week. Oh, that must have been that 20$ a week to Trinity....it really adds up ya`know.

He should have felt about an inch high being interviewed by Rick Warren making that 25K-rich comment to Rick Warren, and being concerned about the same things Warren is... Gee, Warren gives 90% of his income to charity, verses Obama's 6.1 %z(06).

You all have it wrong...
George was a born alive aborted baby, so by BO's own twisted reasoning he doesn't deserve any help.

You the perfect example of the kind of people who vote for and worship BO - for no good reason at all except for that tingling in the thighs.

So you are saying that George Obama didn't contact his brother so Barack Obama thought George was living the good life in Kenya! Tell me you are smarter than that.....or maybe not or you wouldn't have voted for Obama....
Dan writes: Saturday, August, 23, 2008 2:01 AM
George Barack at least as per
the telegraph article isn't a drug addict - just someone who's down on his luck in the slums of Kenya. Obama quoted Mathew at Saddleback, "whatever you do for the least of these my brothers, you do for me" while saying that America should be less selfish - but then you see his own poverty-stricken brother (ok half-brother)and you begin to question Obama at a personal level. Tells a lot about his core character.
BO's charitable donations went up (although less than 5%) only after he decided to run for president.

Sean Hannity Asking For George's Address
Sean Hannity was moved to pity when he heard about poor George Obama. He's asking the Obama campaign for George's Address so he can send him $1,000. George too, will live like King Obama.

Wasted time typing this story ...
and I have wasted time reading this story and it's comments.

How many of you support your siblings? If you do, how long will you do it? Who cares if his brother lives in a shack in another country?!

WE need to be worrying about the amount of money WE spend in Iraq. WE need to worry about how our society needs to continuously improve our education system. WE need to worry about how the mortgage banking industry totally screwed a ton of people. WE need to worry about alternative energy - OTHER THAN OIL!

This is all a big DISTRACTION.

Don't sweat insignificant 'news' items, such as this. The author has to earn a living, by any means possible. Do you want more of Cindy McCain's drug habit? Or John McCain's early character building decision to leave his first family and marry into enormous wealth?

Sheesh!

Don: I say Bologna to your theory
of Omaba helping his brother once he's elected. How about his brother's sufering all these years before he began his run? And what if he ISN'T elected? does that mean he will never help him. And when he says he'll help the poor, if he can help ANY poor, why doesn't include his own brother?
LauraG writes: Sunday, August, 24, 2008 11:48 AM
How did Obama make 4 million dollars
last year? He wasn't even been doing his job as Senator, yet still got paid while campaigning all over the world, AND managed to make 4 million? Hmmmmm! Politics really is a lucrative business these days, eh? Da*n I shoulda ran for some office. Naw, I couldn't be that crooked, cut-throat, and deceiving. Darn!

Barack and Michelle
did not take very long to decide to move into a $1.7 m home - plus a garden which had to be purchased from Mrs. Rezko. The big money was still warm when they decided to seek advice/help/whatever from an "associate" already being investigated by the Feds. How important was it for this relatively young family to want a home which was way out of their budget just a few years prior. As Obama said - his seeking help from Rezko on this matter was "boneheaded" -so why should we think he is capable of more than boneheaded decisions.
John McCain does have a divorce in his past - difficult for any one to pass judgement on the matter. He married a wealthy woman - better than a poor one - and I for one rather have a President without personal financial problems.
Since when is it wise to elect a poor man.
